The Alhambra City Council proclaimed a Local State of Emergency Monday to allow the City to more
effectively respond to the novel coronavirus disease. The proclamation allows the City to strengthen efforts to seek
assistance from state and federal partners.

The City of Alhambra is taking preventative measures to protect the community. Following recent federal, state and county guidelines, we are taking the following proactive steps to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
TEMPORARY BUSINESS CLOSURES/CHANGES UPDATE:
This order immediately requires CLOSING the following types of businesses until further notice:
Restaurants can be open for curbside pickup, takeout and delivery only - NO SIT DOWN
Bars and Clubs that do not serve food - ARE CLOSED
Gyms and Fitness Centers - ARE CLOSED
Movie theaters, live performance theaters, Bowling Alleys and Arcades - ARE CLOSED

WHAT'S CLOSED OR CANCELLED
All nonessential meetings and City events, and non-City meetings and events in City facilities are cancelled
until further notice.
Public Meetings
The regular March 23, 2020 City Council Meeting has been cancelled. The next regular City Council Meeting is scheduled for April 13, 2020. All other board and commission meetings, including Planning Commission meeting, are cancelled until further notice.
Alhambra Civic Center Library
Effective immediately, the Library will close until further notice.
Patrons can access all of the Library's digital resources including e-books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, streaming movies & TV 24/7 via our website: https://alhambralibrary.org/all-databases
For assistance with e-resource materials or for other library questions, patrons can also connect with a Reference Librarian via phone at 570-5688, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Senior Services
Effective immediately, the Joslyn Senior Center will close until further notice.
Arrangements are currently under development for essential nutritional support services to Joslyn Center senior participants.
Senior Ride program will continue as normal to provide for essential trips, including medical appointments and grocery store or pharmacy trips.
Neighborhood watch captains and CERT volunteers will check in with elderly neighbors to offer assistance (i.e. food shopping). Elderly residents can call 626-570-3220 for more information.
Recreation and Community Services
Facility reservations, adult and youth programs and classes are cancelled immediately until further notice.
WHAT'S OPEN
City Hall will remain open, but we encourage people to conduct business online or by phone whenever possible to maintain social distancing by calling 626-570-5007.
Public Safety operations remain open and assistance is available online or over the phone by calling 626-570-5178.
City parks open areas remain available, although the gymnasium and pools are closed. Park restrooms will be sanitized more frequently.
Farmers Market will remain open. Handwashing stations will be set up and safety tips will be posted at the entry point.
Vendors will be spaced farther apart to give shoppers room for social distancing.
Customer Service Center for utility payments will remain open.
Water and trash service operations continue. Customers are encouraged to utilize the online payment system at https://www.onlinebiller.com/alhambra/ or call 626-570-506. There will be no water shut-offs for 60 days.
Interviews and recruitment events are proceeding as scheduled.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience that these actions may cause; the safety of the public is our highest priority.
