DOWNTOWN ALHAMBRA ST. PADDY’S DAY PUB CRAWL CANCELLED
Unfortunately, due to the recent developments regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19), Downtown Alhambra is cancelling the annual St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl.
Previously, we had modified the crawl to be more aligned with CDC, local and state guidelines that would still allow the event to go on. However, Governor Newsom called for stronger measures that Mayor Garcetti has now made into an official executive order.
As of midnight last night (March 15), the Mayor issued a mandate to temporarily close bars, nightclubs and restaurants, until March 31. Garcetti said restaurants could remain open only for take out and delivery customers. See detailed executive order>>
The CDC also recommended organizers "cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States."
This has been a tough decision, but we want to put the safety of the public first. We know this has and will take a toll on local businesses in Downtown Alhambra, many of which are restaurants and bars. We encourage you to support those establishments by ordering to go, or delivery, if applicable. Consider also getting a gift card for yourself or others that you can use later if that is an option.
Note that although we are cancelling the St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl, some businesses may still decide to remain open on St. Paddy’s Day. Please check with them directly for status updates.
With all said, please take care of yourselves and continue to follow all strongly advised protocols to prevent the further spread of COVID 19.
